About Jess Walsh

Jess Walsh is an artist and photographer whose passion for Ireland's natural beauty shines through in every piece. Her work captures the essence of the Irish landscape, with a particular focus on the breathtaking scenery of the West of Ireland. From rolling hills and rugged coastlines to tranquil lakes and ancient ruins, Jess's art invites viewers to experience the magic and mystery of the Irish countryside.
Jess moved from Dublin to Oughterard, County Galway in 2008. She got to know and love the West of Ireland as her parents had lived there for many years.
She’s been painting for most of her life, watercolour being her favourite but she loves to experiment with every medium. She exhibited her paintings in Dublin for many years. Her work is part of the OPW collection, she has also exhibited in the RHA annual exhibition. Jess’s background is in advertising.
Jess has been taking photographs forever, starting with a Kodak ‘Brownie’ and her bathroom became her darkroom when she was ten! Portraits were her favourite when she was younger, but on moving to Connemara the amazing scenery took first place.
She has self published two books of photographs, one on Garden flowers, the other about Oughterard. Her book of flowers had been a dream for about 20 years. It’s had many incarnations along the way. The Oughterard book has brought her great joy since it was published in 2015.
I’m delighted to be able to share my work with you.
